Djingo
Djingo, a brown Mare from 1998 and about 150 cm. She is a Nord Svensk coldblood trotter horse and lives since October 2010 at the ranch.
Djingo has been a very good trotting horse. She was one of the best trotters of Värmland and she has earned a lot of money in the trotting sport. After a couple of years she was no longer fast enough and they kept her for breeding. After that, they wanted to get rid of her, if necessary, slaughter.
When we saw her, we immediately fell in love with her and we wanted her in our herd.
Djingo is a real sweetheart, very experienced and a very hard worker. She is retrained from English to western riding and she is doing great, even better with a side pull than with a bit. She really likes to work.
She is a very quick horse, but she will not run away while we’re out on a trail ride. She has a quick basic tempo. But she can also jog and do a nice gallop. It’s no problem for her even though she is a trotter horse.
She does not stand out in the herd, she is very calm and neutral. But there is something that makes her special. Almost every day if we take the horses in to the night paddock, she’s standing next to us and waits until the entire herd is inside and then she finally goes in to the paddock. Like she’s making sure that everyone is safely inside. Very funny!
